Role Description The Registered Dietitian is a full-time, on-site role based in the Rochester, New York Metropolitan Area. This position is responsible for assessing nutritional needs, developing individualized care plans, and providing medical nutrition therapy to clients in coordination with clinical and interdisciplinary teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting nutrition assessments, offering one-on-one and group nutritional counseling, and supporting weight management and wellness programs tailored to diverse populations. The Registered Dietitian monitors progress, adjusts interventions as needed, and documents all services in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards. The role also involves educating clients, families, and staff on evidence-based nutrition practices that promote overall health and support behavioral health and educational goals. Qualifications Strong foundation in Dietetics and Nutrition, with the ability to apply current evidence-based guidelines in a variety of care settings. Experience providing Nutritional Counseling to individuals and groups, including education on healthy eating patterns and behavior change. Proficiency in Medical Nutrition Therapy, including assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for nutrition-related health conditions. Skills in Weight Management, including developing and implementing realistic, person-centered plans to support healthy weight and lifestyle. Active Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential and state licensure or eligibility for licensure, as required. Experience working with diverse populations and multidisciplinary teams, ideally in behavioral health, community health, or similar settings. Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and motivate clients. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field; completion of an accredited dietetic internship program.
