Officers must lift, push, pull, or carry heavy loads-over 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly. Physical mobility is required for frequent vehicle entry and exit, building inspections, climbing obstacles, and rapid response to hazards.Mental alertness is essential for quick decision‑making, recognizing subtle danger cues, and identifying inconsistencies in statements. Physical and mental demands can change within seconds and require sustained endurance.
