Summer Camp Coordinator

TNCS is seeking an experienced, organized, and dependable Summer Camp Coordinator to provide leadership and oversight for camp operations and help ensure a safe, well-managed, and engaging experience for children, families, and staff throughout the summer.

The Summer Camp Coordinator serves in a key supervisory role, overseeing daily camp operations; directing and supporting staff and Counselors in Training (CITs); maintaining safety and operational procedures; and helping ensure the smooth execution of camp programming and daily schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day camp operations and serve as Administrator on Duty
• Manage and support daily arrival, dismissal, transitions, overall schedule flow, and coverage coordination
• Supervise and support Counselors in Training (CITs)
• Serve as a point of contact for camp staff, CITs, and families as needed
• Ensure camper safety and adherence to all camp safety procedures and protocols
• Assist with attendance tracking, rosters, and student-related administrative follow-up, including health and behavior documentation
• Send regular family updates, including reminders, announcements, and photos
• Assist with pre-camp staff training and post-camp wrap-up
• Perform additional operational and supervisory duties related to Summer Camp as assigned

Requirements

• Dependable and team-oriented, with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Prior supervisory experience, including overseeing teams of at least five staff members
• Previous experience working in camps, schools, youth programs, or other child-centered environments
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with both children and adults and confidently manage groups of varying sizes
• Comfortable learning and using technology and software platforms
• Must meet Maryland Youth Camp licensing requirements and successfully complete required background checks

Schedule

• Full-time during Summer Camp weeks
• Some flexible pre-camp and post-camp responsibilities may occur in May, early June, and mid-August
