Graduates leave UHS with a strong foundation to pursue successful careers in healthcare. Role Description The Nursing Instructor is a part-time, on-site position located in Manassas, VA. The individual in this role will plan, deliver, and evaluate classroom and clinical instruction for nursing students, ensuring alignment with program objectives and regulatory standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, presenting lectures, facilitating skills labs, supervising students in clinical settings, and assessing student performance through exams, practical evaluations, and feedback. The Nursing Instructor will maintain accurate records, participate in curriculum review, collaborate with other faculty and staff, and support students through mentoring, academic advising, and remediation as needed. The role also involves promoting professional ethics, evidence-based practice, and a safe learning environment. Qualifications Curriculum Development and Nursing Education skills to design, implement, and assess effective didactic and clinical learning experiences. Clinical Nursing and Medicine experience to provide current, evidence-based instruction and practical guidance in patient care. Background in Critical Care Medicine to teach advanced clinical concepts and support instruction in high-acuity care settings. Current, unrestricted RN license (or relevant nursing licensure) and graduation from an accredited nursing program; advanced degree in nursing or education preferred. Previous teaching or precepting experience in academic or clinical environments, with strong communication, presentation, and mentoring skills. Demonstrated commitment to student success, inclusive teaching practices, and collaboration within a diverse academic community.
