Job Description – Nurse Practitioner (Family Practice / Primary Care) Job Title: Nurse Practitioner (NP) Location: Columbia, Maryland (On-site) Job Type: Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing primary care team in Columbia, MD. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care across the lifespan, focusing on preventive medicine, health promotion, and the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic medical conditions. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions using evidence‑based clinical practices. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans. Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures. Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with Maryland state regulations and collaborative practice agreements. Provide preventive care services, annual wellness visits, immunizations, and health screenings. Educate patients and families on disease prevention, medication management, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle practices. Coordinate patient care with physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to clinical guidelines and regulatory standards. Foster a welcoming, respectful, and patient‑focused clinical environment. Required Qualifications Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license. Current Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Maryland (or eligibility to obtain prior to employment). National Board Certification (FNP, ANP, AGNP, or equivalent). Current CPR/BLS certification. Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills. Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and clinical documentation. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to evidence-based medicine and high-quality patient care. Preferred Qualifications ACLS certification. Experience in Primary Care, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Urgent Care, or Community Health. Experience managing patients across diverse age groups.
