The ideal candidate will have a strong background in verification and validation of complex software. You will be a key contributor on a team developing next generation solutions for our Inspection Business Unit. This position offers the unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your contributions will have a direct impact on the success of our products.Job Summary & ResponsibilitiesPerform requirements-based and system level testing across projects and platforms ensuring quality and efficiency for Onto's Inspection Business Unit solutionsCross-functional collaboration with software, hardware, manufacturing and applications teams to validate softwareAnalyze and verify software requirements for testability, clarity and completenessDevelop comprehensive test plans for new features and productsInvestigate, reproduce, log and escalate issues/defectsDevelop efficient test strategies (test cases and procedures) for the different sub-systems comprising the productDevelop and execute automated and manual tests, regression, functional, and acceptance testsConduct thorough testing and debugging of software to ensure high-quality and reliable operationParticipate in the design and implementation of new features and functionalitiesPerform design/code reviews for all automation scripts and manual test cases, collaborating with systems engineers, software developers, and other technical staffProvide technical support and guidance to other team membersStay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in software development and hardware-software integrationQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field OR equivalent experience in software development, IT, or technical support services.Ability to understand requirements and design test strategies and plans based on those requirementsProven experience (~5 years) in software testing and/or systems level testing for highly technical applicationsExperience in scripting (Python, JavaScript, etc.)Experience testing client/server solutionsExcellent skillset focused on Windows development, the .NET platform (C#, C++), and relational databases (SQL Server a plus)Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or KanbanExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail and quality.
