Company Description A & T Iron Works, Inc. is a NYS and NYC certified WBE, DBE, and SBE steel manufacturing company specializing in the fabrication and installation of miscellaneous, ornamental, and structural (fabrication only) custom steel products. Based in New Rochelle for nearly five decades, the company serves a broad client base that includes public agencies, private firms, and governmental entities across the New York City Metropolitan Area. A & T operates a 16,000 sq. ft. factory where it also manufactures its Orsogril grating fence product line and provides sandblasting, metalizing (thermal spray), priming, and painting services. The team includes project managers, estimators, steel detailers, and AWS-licensed, OSHA-certified fabricators who bring deep expertise to each project. Role Description The Project Manager – Miscellaneous Metals is a full-time, on-site role based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. This position oversees miscellaneous and ornamental metals projects from award through closeout, including planning, scheduling, coordination, and communication with clients, general contractors, and internal teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing drawings and specifications, coordinating detailing, fabrication, and installation activities, and tracking project progress against budgets and timelines. The role involves managing submittals and RFIs, monitoring quality and compliance with safety standards, and resolving field issues in collaboration with shop and site personnel. The Project Manager also supports procurement and expediting of materials, prepares status reports, and ensures accurate documentation for billing and project records.
Qualifications

Strong project management skills, including Project Management and Expediting, with experience overseeing multiple steel or construction projects.
Background in coordinating Expeditor activities and Logistics Management to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Experience with Inspection and quality control processes related to steel fabrication and installation.
Knowledge of miscellaneous and ornamental metals, steel fabrication workflows, and construction documents (drawings, specs, submittals).
Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings; proficiency with related software (e.g., MS Office, project management tools).
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, contractors, shop staff, and field crews.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage schedules, budgets, and competing priorities.
Relevant experience in construction or steel industry project management; technical or engineering background is beneficial.
Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and site safety practices; certifications are a plus.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
