Yosemite Pathology is a private independent pathologist owned and operated surgical pathology and cytology laboratory based in Modesto, CA. YP provides comprehensive state of the art, reliable, and accurate diagnostic services to its physicians and major area hospitals in the Alameda, Amador, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Kern, Mariposa, Merced, San Joaquin, Solano, Stanislaus and Tuolumne counties. YP offers a full spectrum of tissue pathology, cytology, and histology services, including examination of gynecologic specimens, body fluids and fine needle aspiration specimens. We also offer an extensive array of special stains and immunohistochemistry to assist in the management of oncologic and non-oncologic diseases. The laboratory is supported by highly qualified Histotechnologist, Cytotechnologist, Technicians and office staff who offer excellent service.Summary/ObjectiveThe Histology Laboratory Aide provides support services to the Histology team by performing tasks and activities in the Histology area.Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pmEssential FunctionsPrepares requisitions for demo by secretariesBlock and slide reconciliation for delivery to pathologistsSlide labelingBlock and slide filingSlide coverslipping and repairBuffer preparationProcessor maintenanceStainer maintenancePrinting Doctor's requests from LIS and retrieving corresponding block to be cut by HistotechsQA log documentationPulling blocks and slides for requestsUnpacking supplies Other job functions deemed necessary by managementJob Requirements and Skills High school diploma requiredPrevious laboratory experience preferredLaboratory Information System experience a plusMust have strong work ethics and communication skillsDetail oriented, professional attitude, reliable, and ability to work as part of a teamAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writingAbility to work independently and with a teamIntermediate computer and applications skillsCompensation and Benefits The compensation is $47,840 - $49,920 annually paid semi-monthly on an eight (8) hour per day, forty (40) hour per week.
