Travel Nurse RN – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Location: Columbus, OH Agency: Fusion Medical Staffing Pay: $1,731 to $1,841 per week Shift: Days – 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 7/20/2026 About the Position Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a NICU RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Columbus, Ohio. The RN will provide advanced neonatal care to critically ill and premature newborns, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and ensuring adherence to hospital and regulatory standards. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as a neonatal intensive care RN Valid RN license in Ohio Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification Preferred Qualifications PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Essential Work Functions Assess and monitor critically ill and premature newborns, identifying changes and documenting conditions and responses Administer prescribed medications and treatments per approved neonatal nursing techniques Perform neonatal assessments, including vital signs, weight checks, and specialized neonatal screenings Operate and manage advanced NICU equipment such as ventilators, CPAP machines, and infusion pumps, ensuring proper functionality Assist with life‑saving and diagnostic neonatal procedures, including umbilical line placement and intubation Educate and support parents on neonatal care, including feeding techniques and developmental care Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and procedures Develop and implement individualized care plans for neonates in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team Adhere to infection control measures, including hand hygiene, PPE use, and sterilization protocols Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize neonatal outcomes Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills Ability to read, write, and communicate in English Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills Physical abilities – Must remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend Interpersonal skills – Must work effectively with a variety of personnel to maintain a positive attitude and professionalism Technical/ motor skills – Must grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move when assisting with procedures and/or equipment Mental requirements – Must cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure Sensory requirements – Must possess visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively Benefits Competitive pay for travel professionals Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with first‑day coverage Paid Time Off after 1,560 hours Life and short‑term disability offered 401(k) matching Referral bonus program 24/7 recruiter support Reimbursement for licensure and CEU credits Other Duties Disclaimer To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
