Banquet Manager - DCSD Legacy Campus Job Description Under the supervision of the Event Manager, the Banquet Manager contributes hospitality expertise and operational leadership to ensure the successful execution of events at the Legacy Campus. The role involves managing on-site logistics and service components of events, maintaining high standards of hospitality, professionalism, and guest experience. The manager collaborates with internal departments and external partners to coordinate small, midsize, and large events hosted at the Legacy Campus, overseeing event preparation, staff supervision, room setup, guest service, and post‑event breakdown. Schedule and Work Hours Full‑time position: 40 hours per week. Evening and weekend work is required based on event schedule. Hours/days will flex based on calendar of events. Physical and Environmental Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during event preparation and execution. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and move throughout event spaces during setup and breakdown. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull event‑related materials and equipment up to 25–40 pounds. Ability to assist with room setups, including arranging tables, chairs, staging, and event equipment. Ability to move quickly and safely through event spaces while managing logistics and guest needs. Ability to communicate clearly in person and via phone, radio, and electronic systems. Visual and auditory ability to monitor event environments, identify safety concerns, and respond to guest needs. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, district policies, and campus procedures. Model professional conduct and maintain the highest level of personal and professional integrity in all interactions. Promote a welcoming, professional, and service‑focused environment for all guests and campus partners. Monitor event timelines and ensure services are delivered according to schedule and client expectations. Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, schools, departments, and community partners using the Legacy Campus. Coordinate with Technology, Custodial, Security, and Catering teams to ensure all event logistics are properly executed. Assist with scheduling and coordination of internal and external users through the facility management system, including rental agreements, invoicing, and payment processes. Serve as a point of contact for event hosts, vendors, and service teams during events to ensure smooth communication and quick resolution of issues. Ensure event spaces are set, maintained, and reset according to event specifications and campus standards. Supervise and coordinate event and banquet staff, including set‑up, service, and breakdown teams. Oversee on‑site management of banquet and event operations, ensuring all details are implemented according to the event plan. Assist the Event Manager and the Assistant Event Coordinator in the planning, coordination, and successful execution of campus events. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Set up and troubleshoot basic A/V equipment and technologies. Qualifications and Experience Experience in event planning preferred. Not required. Certifications and Education Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality. Skills Ability to coordinate teams and supervise event support staff. Ability to effectively adapt to changing priorities. Attention to detail. Computer application skills: Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Excellent customer service skills, with an emphasis in event planning and implementation. Excellent facilitation skills for adults and students. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Problem‑solving, organizational, and analytical skills. Position Type and Location Regular full‑time (1.0 FTE). Primary location: Legacy Campus. Salary Range Minimum hire rate: $55,220.35 USD per year. Maximum hire rate: $69,435.49 USD per year. Full salary range: $55,220.35 USD – $83,650.63 USD per year. Benefits Eligible for health, vision, dental, health savings account (HSA), flexible spending accounts (FSA), District paid and voluntary additional life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, short and long‑term disability, critical illness and accident voluntary insurance, employee assistance program (EAP), voluntary 401(k), 403(b), and 457 retirement plan options. Voluntary 403(b) savings plan with up to 4% District match for up to 5 years from date of hire. Time Off Paid off‑track, sick, and personal time.
