Role Overview
Seeking a Hospitalist Physician to provide locum tenens coverage with responsibilities including managing patient census, performing procedures, and contributing to patient care in a hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Cover 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm or 7pm-7am) with a patient census of 10-15 per shift
- Perform procedures such as abscess drainage, thoracentesis, nasogastric tube insertion, paracentesis, line and tube removal, lumbar puncture, and joint injections
- Support a team of two physicians per shift, ensuring quality patient care
- Utilize the EMR system (CPAR) for documentation
Qualifications & Skills
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medicine
- Active BLS, ACLS, and DEA certifications
- Unrestricted state license
- Ability to perform advanced procedures and handle high-acuity cases
Additional Details
Credentialing takes approximately 60 days. The role requires providing comprehensive patient care in a hospital environment, supporting a team, and adhering to certification requirements.
