CLS Informatics Analyst – Laboratory – Full Time – Variable Shift Job Category: Laboratory Requisition Number: CLSIN001645 Posted: December 2, 2025 Employment Type: Full‑time, On‑site, Variable 8‑hour shifts Hourly Range: $44.25 to $61.96 USD Location Showing 1 location Description Position Summary Under the supervision of the Lab Manager, the Clinical Lab Scientist Informatics Analyst is responsible for laboratory information systems (LIS), supply management, and ensuring inspection readiness. Duties include oversight of planning, assisting in the creation of specification documents, and testing for Meditech LIS implementation. The role also involves maintenance and testing of LIS, databases, interfaces, and operational aspects of the laboratory, while maintaining competency as a CLS when necessary. Required to work normal/scheduled hours, including holidays, callbacks, weeknights, weekends, and on‑call. The employee must participate in emergencies and community disasters as designated by the California Emergency Services Act. Must conduct reporting of perceived misconduct and comply with organizational standards and code of conduct. Must perform well under pressure, meet competing deadlines, and demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors. Responsibilities and Essential Functions Assess, treat, or care appropriate to the ages of patients served; obtain and interpret patient information; understand growth and development and the range of treatment needed for all patient groups. Perform waived, moderately complex, and highly complex testing; daily quality control; corrective actions; and documentation efficiently and accurately. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of instrumentation and methodologies in assigned areas. Troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation; document corrective actions, preventive maintenance, and safety checks; perform calibration, verification, and repairs in coordination with Bio Med. Implement new techniques, processes, and instruments; perform cross‑over studies; revise procedures as appropriate. Manage multiple LIS projects concurrently; communicate effectively with the IT department to coordinate laboratory services. Plan, design, build, and test Meditech LIS implementation; support, maintain, and test clinical laboratory information systems, including databases, interfaces, and operational aspects of the laboratory. Perform advanced‑level design, build, testing, validation, and implementation assignments/projects; translate complex requirements into system specifications and configuration requirements; ensure research and documentation of project requirements, test plans, and validation are completed. Serve as a resource to all lab employees, troubleshooting technological and operational issues. Ensure that information provided within the LIS is accurate and appropriate to the ages of patients served. Coordinate LIS with hospital and physician needs. Collaborate with Patient Accounting, Financial Planning, and Medical Information Services to achieve requirements such as ICD codes, CPT codes, and CDM pricing. Act as laboratory supplies coordinator for inventory, ordering, and stocking of supplies (e.g., reagents, media, and other necessary lab supplies). Maintain on‑site attendance and punctuality. Qualifications and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related field such as Health Information, Computer Science, or Health Informatics. • One (1) year of laboratory information systems experience required. • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist highly preferred. • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence when required. • Ability to calculate figures and amounts as needed. • Intermediate computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. • Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license.
