Contract (13 Weeks) | 12-Hour Rotating Day/Night Shifts | 36 Guaranteed Hours Per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive Labor and Delivery nursing care in accordance with AWHONN staffing guidelines, including labor support, postpartum care, and newborn nursery care within a single integrated unit
• Manage a variable patient assignment that may include laboring patients, postpartum mother-baby couplets, triage patients, and post-op GYN patients as census demands
• Perform unit support duties during low-census periods, including daily tasks, restocking, cleaning, and triage coverage as needed
• Float to other departments (e.g., Med/Surg, ER, or ICU) for non-patient-assignment tasks such as vital signs, answering call lights, and completing patient histories as needed; no patient assignments and no isolation rooms during float
• Document all patient care accurately and in a timely manner using EPIC electronic health records
• Adhere to all facility infection control policies, including applicable vaccination and masking requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted)
• Current Advanced NRP certification (AHA or ARC accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of OB experience with Labor and Delivery
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records required
• Demonstrated competency in Labor and Delivery clinical skills and familiarity with AWHONN guidelines

Preferred Experience / Skills

• AWHONN and PALS certifications preferred
• Critical access hospital experience highly preferred
• Strong adaptability, resilience, and ability to manage change in a highly variable census environment
• Assertive, confident, team-oriented, and socially collaborative work style
