Summary About the Position: Serves as Supervisory Physical Security Specialist in developing policy and guidance for the Installation Management Command (IMCOM) physical security program at the installation. Learn more about this agency Duties Help
- Advise on all physical security matters installation wide and of the Installation Access Control policies and procedures.
- Maintain operation command over the Department of the Army Security Guards.
- Conduct routine physical and internal security inspections to detect deficiencies and violations of directives.
- Coordinate operations of the Visitor Control Center (VCC). Develops and updates Standard Operating Procedures for the VCC.
- Responsible for physical security plans, procedures, and inspections as well as key control.
- During crisis situations may be required to work other than normal duty hours that may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays and overtime.
- Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a SECRET personnel security clearance.
- This position requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. Must obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program in accordance with AR 600-85.
- Incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment. This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.
- May require Temporary Duty travel (TDY) up to 20%.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 25 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
