Financials Support Specialist

Job Description

Innovative Systems is looking for an eLation Financials Specialist to join our team. eLation Financials is our accounting software, used by telecommunications companies, electric cooperatives, and municipalities to manage their day-to-day financial operations. In this role, you'll be the go-to expert helping those clients get the most out of the software — troubleshooting issues, leading conversions, and building the kind of relationships that make clients feel supported, not just serviced.

This is a full-time role and can be on-site or remote. Occasional travel to client sites and our Mitchell, SD office is part of the job, along with occasional after-hours support.

A Day in the Life

One day you might be walking a client through a year-end reconciliation; the next you're leading a full software conversion for a new client or recording a quick tutorial video for our knowledge base. No two days look quite the same.

What You'll Do

• Be the frontline for client support — answering questions and solving problems by phone, email, and our ticketing system

• Lead software conversions from start to finish, including data verification and configuration

• Train clients on the software and help them apply it to their day-to-day accounting work

• Troubleshoot technical issues and walk clients through clear, step-by-step solutions

• Partner with our development team to escalate and prioritize more complex issues

• Keep track of client interactions and resolutions in our ticketing system

• Build out support documentation, knowledge base articles, and video tutorials

Ideal Candidate Would Have

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field — or equivalent experience

• A solid grasp of accounting principles and practices

• Comfort troubleshooting software issues (you don't need to be a developer, just curious and capable)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• A customer-first mindset and the organizational chops to juggle multiple client issues at once

Preferred (Not Required)

• Experience with financial software, especially eLation Financials

• Background in customer support

• Experience with telecommunications companies, electric cooperatives, or municipalities

Don't worry if you haven't used eLation Financials before — we'll train you on the software itself. What matters most is your accounting foundation and your ability to connect with clients.
