United Talent is immediately hiring a Shear Operator in Nitro WV!

Job Duties:

• Operate hydraulic shear equipment to cut and process ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal.
• Inspect incoming materials to ensure they are safe and appropriate for processing.
• Load, position, and feed materials into the shear using loaders, forklifts, cranes, or other equipment as needed.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure efficient operation.
• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on shear equipment.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain production goals while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Follow all company policies, environmental regulations, and OSHA safety requirements.
• Assist with other recycling yard operations and equipment as needed.

Pay and Shift: Monday – Friday 7am – 3:30pm pay is $20 per hour

Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work outdoors for extended periods.
• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds; heavier materials must be moved using equipment.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and dust.
• Comfortable working around heavy equipment, moving machinery, and loud industrial environments.
• Previous experience operating industrial machinery, heavy equipment, or hydraulic shear equipment preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
