Principal Software Engineer - OCI Planning & Capacity

Salary: $114,600 - 234,600 per year Requirements:

• A bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or another related technical discipline.
• At least 7 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong coding ability in Java, Python, Go, C#, or comparable modern languages.
• Experience designing and delivering cloud-native services and APIs.
• Experience building applications for cloud environments.
• Solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Experience with relational and/or distributed databases.
• Familiarity with modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, source control, and observability.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred: experience with distributed systems and highly scalable backend services.
• Preferred: experience in data engineering, ETL, streaming platforms, data pipelines, or large-scale analytics.
• Preferred: familiarity with infrastructure planning, capacity management, data center operations, hardware lifecycle management, or supply chain workflows.
• Preferred: experience in cloud infrastructure organizations such as OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Preferred: experience with workflow orchestration, business process automation, or operational management systems.
• Preferred: familiarity with Oracle APEX and low-code application frameworks.

• We design, develop, test, and operate cloud-native services that support OCI infrastructure planning and capacity management.
• We build scalable backend services, APIs, workflow engines, and automation platforms for business-critical operational processes.
• We develop and maintain distributed systems that process large-scale infrastructure, operational, and planning data.
• We partner with product managers, TPMs, infrastructure teams, supply chain groups, and business stakeholders to define and deliver technical solutions.
• We create data ingestion, transformation, and analytics pipelines that improve forecasting accuracy and operational visibility.
• We contribute to system architecture, technical design reviews, and engineering best practices.
• We drive operational excellence through monitoring, observability, reliability improvements, and automation.
• We participate in on-call rotations and production support as needed.
• We identify opportunities to simplify workflows, improve efficiency, and reduce manual effort through software.
• We collaborate across OCI organizations to integrate with infrastructure, inventory, planning, and capacity management systems.
• We help build capacity forecasting and planning services.
• We help build infrastructure sourcing and deployment workflows.
• We help build data pipelines and operational analytics platforms.
• We help build executive reporting and operational visibility systems.

Our Infrastructure Planning and Capacity Management organization builds the platforms, services, workflows, and operational tooling that help us plan, source, deploy, and manage capacity across our global cloud footprint. This is an IC4 role focused on developing cloud-native platforms that support OCIs global infrastructure growth. The US hiring range is $114,600 to $234,600 per year, and the role may be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
