About the Position

Job Title: Med-Surg Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-Surg Adult Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Current Registered Nurse License Certifications: Current CPR/BLS Card, ACLS Must-Have: - Ability to work in a blended Med-Surg unit. - Experience with Swing Bed Program patients. - Familiarity with PCU level of care. - Flexibility with patient assignments based on workload and care level. Description: This is a blended Med-Surg unit with a thriving Swing Bed Program. The unit also occasionally cares for patients requiring a Progressive Care Unit level of care. Assignments are balanced according to the nursing workload and patient care levels. The patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:5 for Med-Surg, 1:5-6 for Swing Bed, and 1:3-4 for PCU based on specific needs. Nurses with a Med-Surg background are supported with assignments by supervisors. The shift schedule is from 7 PM to 7 AM, including every other holiday and every other weekend. There is no on-call requirement. The team is highly engaged and leads several committees within the unit. The facility is recognized for safety, quality care, and a positive work environment.
