Job Title: Quality Inspector Job Description

The Quality Inspector ensures that products meet established quality standards by performing detailed inspections at all stages of production, identifying nonconforming materials, and supporting continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment. This role involves frequent collaboration with production and quality teams, extensive use of computers and Microsoft Office, and a strong focus on accuracy, documentation, and adherence to quality procedures.

• Perform First Article inspections to verify that initial production units meet all specifications and quality requirements.
• Conduct inspections of in-process products on the manufacturing floor to identify and address quality issues early in the production cycle.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet all quality standards and customer requirements before release.
• Perform receiving inspections on incoming materials and components to confirm they meet defined specifications.
• Conduct surveillance audits to monitor ongoing compliance with quality procedures and standards.
• Perform shelf life audits to verify that materials and products are within their allowable usage period.
• Record and document results of all final inspections accurately and in a timely manner.
• Communicate quality issues, nonconforming materials, and inspection findings to Production Supervisors to help identify and correct problems.
• Escalate quality concerns and significant issues to the Quality Technician or Quality Manager for further action.
• Use computers daily to enter inspection data and generate reports using Microsoft Excel, Word, and other internal systems.
• Work with minimal supervision, following priorities set by the Lead or Supervisor while independently performing routine inspections.
• Handle and inspect electronic components and assemblies, using appropriate tools and methods to verify quality.
• Apply visual inspection techniques to detect defects, inconsistencies, and nonconformities in products and materials.
• Follow established quality procedures and work instructions to ensure consistent and reliable inspection practices.

• 23 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing or electronics-related environment.
• Strong commitment to producing a high-quality product and adherence to quality standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including regular use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software programs and tools.
• Ability to use computers daily for data entry, documentation, and email communication.
• Experience with visual inspection and quality checking of products and materials.
• Attention to detail and accuracy when inspecting, documenting, and reporting findings.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision while following established priorities and procedures.
• Familiarity with electronics, including working with electronic components and assemblies.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely in support of inspection activities.

• Experience in a climate-controlled production environment.
• Comfort working in a medium-sized production floor with multiple departments.
• Familiarity with internal systems such as Exact MAX or similar manufacturing/ERP software.
• Experience performing First Article, in-process, and final inspections in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with Production Supervisors and quality team members.
• Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and inspection assignments as directed by leadership.

The role is based on a medium-sized, climate-controlled production floor that is divided into different departments. Work is primarily seated, with approximately 8090% of the time spent sitting and the remaining 1020% involving standing or taking a few steps back and forth near a machine or workstation. The environment involves working around electronics and related equipment, using computers daily, and interacting regularly with production and quality personnel. Dress is appropriate for a manufacturing and inspection setting, with a focus on safety, comfort, and professionalism.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
