The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility and supporting residents and staff. Responsibilities Perform cleaning duties according to schedule (daily, weekly, monthly) in assigned areas such as apartment homes, common areas, lounges, and offices. Sweep, dust, mop, and clean floors and stairways; spot‑clean and vacuum floors, rugs, carpets, and runners; rotate runners in hallways and entryways. Clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures and facilities; stock dispensers as necessary. Scrub bath and shower room tiles, woodwork, window frames, and sills. Maintain equipment and materials needed for work in a clean and orderly condition. Collect trash and refuse from work areas and place in designated pick‑up areas. Collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry; maintain commercial laundry in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition. Store cleaning chemicals securely and lock when not in use; keep cords, carts, equipment, and other hazards out of the way to comply with fire codes. Report any needed repairs, supplies, and equipment to the Lead Housekeeper; perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous housekeeping experience preferred. Ability to communicate effectively and speak the primary language of the residents. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Demonstrated interest in working with a senior population. Interaction with guests, residents, and staff in a courteous and friendly manner. Physical requirements: regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms; frequently climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally sit. Regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and color vision.
