Senior Credit Analyst

AWC is seeking a highly analytical and business-minded Senior Credit Analyst to join our finance team. This role is responsible for evaluating customer creditworthiness, managing credit risk, establishing appropriate credit limits, and partnering with our Sales and Operations teams to support profitable business growth while protecting company assets. This individual will play a key role in supporting AWC's continued growth by ensuring credit decisions align with the company's financial objectives and employee-owner culture.How you’ll make an impact:Credit Analysis & Risk ManagementAnalyze customer financial statements, credit reports, payment histories, and industry trends to determine appropriate credit exposureEvaluate new customer credit applications and establish initial credit limits.Review and adjust existing customer credit limits based on financial performance, payment behavior, and changing market conditionsAssess overall portfolio risk and recommend strategies to minimize bad debt exposure.Monitor customers for deteriorating financial conditions and proactively recommend risk mitigation strategiesFinancial AnalysisPerform detailed analysis of: Balance Sheets; Income Statements; Cash Flow Statements; Working Capital; Liquidity Ratios; Debt StructureInterpret financial data to identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential credit risksPrepare comprehensive credit recommendations for management approvalPortfolio ManagementMonitor customer credit exposure across multiple business unitsReview aging reports and identify high-risk accountsPartner with Collections to resolve payment issues while maintaining positive customer relationshipsRecommend holds, release of orders, payment plans, or revised credit terms when appropriateAssist in reducing Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) while supporting revenue growthCross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with: Sales; Operations; Customer Service; Accounting; Executive LeadershipProvide guidance to sales teams regarding customer credit decisionsBalance customer service objectives with sound financial risk managementSupport strategic account opportunities by evaluating financial risk and recommending appropriate credit structures.Process Improvement & ComplianceAssist in developing and improving credit policies, procedures, and internal controlsEnsure compliance with company credit policies and applicable financial regulationsRecommend process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce financial riskParticipate in system enhancements related to credit management and reportingReporting & AnalyticsPrepare periodic reports on: Credit exposure; Portfolio performance; Customer risk trends; Bad debt reserves; Credit limit utilizationPresent findings and recommendations to Finance leadershipDevelop meaningful KPIs to monitor portfolio health and credit performanceSkills you’ll need:Bachelor's Degree in: (Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or Related Business Discipline)5+ years of progressive experience in commercial credit analysis or corporate credit.Strong understanding of financial statement analysisExperience evaluating commercial credit riskAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsExperience utilizing ERP systems and credit reporting servicesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesHere’s what will set you apart:Experience in ERP conversionStrong attention to detail and precision to ensure optimal control valve performanceExceptional problem-solving skills, enabling effective selection of corrective actionsProficient in interpreting schematics, drawings, and procedural instructionsClear and effective communication skills, both verbal and writtenCollaborative team player with the flexibility to work in various settingsAdaptability to work both in a shop environment and at customer-owned facilitiesThe Rewards:Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)401(K) MatchCompetitive PayMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance PackageEmployer Paid Life InsurancePaid Time Off and Holiday PayCareer Development OpportunitiesAbout AWCAs employee co-owners, we’re driven to do more than complete tasks; we build fulfilling careers by challenging assumptions and continually raising the bar.
