Pediatric Hospitalist

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking per diem Pediatric Hospitalists to join their team at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL. This role involves providing comprehensive pediatric care, including inpatient rounding, ED consults, and newborn couplet care, with robust subspecialty support. The position offers an immediate start with flexible scheduling up to 15 shifts per month.

Practice Info

• Coverage includes a 6-bed inpatient pediatric floor
• ED consults
• Newborn couplet care (with NNP support)
• No nursery call or rounds
• NICU coverage is separate
• Subspecialty Support: Pediatric Pulmonology, Endocrinology, and Cardiology on-site, Pediatric Ortho and Surgery (adult), and access to UAB subspecialists for consults

Responsibilities

• Rounding with out of house call from home
• Provide coverage for a 6-bed inpatient pediatric floor
• Perform ED consults
• Provide newborn couplet care (with NNP support)

Compensation

• Pediatrix does cover per diem staff travel expenses (round trip flight/rental car or mileage and lodging) for those who reside outside a commutable distance from the practice
• This position is W-2
• Per diem team members are not eligible for other compensation

Requirements

• BC Pediatrics
• AL license required or IMLC
• Minimum 1 Year experience
