Nondestructive Examination (NDE) Quality Specialist
Torrey Holistics
Step into Ownership. Elevate Quality. At GTC, you don’t just clock in — you buy into something bigger. Through our Ownership For All program, every eligible full-time team member earns an ownership stake from day one. Your precision, your calls, your wins — they help our customers, our company, and you.A Day In Your RoleYou arrive to a clean bench and calibrated instruments, ready to validate critical parts. You review travelers, blueprints, and specs; align with operators and engineering; and then move methodically through NDT — penetrant (PT), magnetic particle (MT), radiography/X-ray (RT), ultrasonic (UT), and visual (VT) — applying the right method to the right feature at the right time. You complete first-article and in-process inspections, record variable data on “as-built” drawings and reports, and flag irregularities before they become defects. You close the loop by charting results, communicating findings, and recommending process changes that lift quality and reduce waste. What You’ll TackleExecute NDT inspections (PT/MT/RT/UT/VT) and accept/reject against applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications.Verify previous-operation signoffs and traveler quantities; confirm no handling damage occurred during movement.Measure critical dimensions (length, height, distance, angles) with standard and precision instruments.Inspect first run/first article parts, weldments, fabrication fit-ups, and assemblies.Monitor and perform calibrations on NDT equipment, facilities, and inspection instruments.Document results with clear reports and charts; communicate status and priorities with coworkers, supervisors, and customers.Identify irregular manufacturing signals early; provide feedback to engineering on processes with excessive variability.Support welder certifications and weld procedure qualification tests for WPS adherence.Serve as lead auditor for internal audits per the GTC Quality Manual, ISO, and customer requirements.Respond quickly to production needs, meet or exceed work standards, and proactively seek additional productive work.Your BackgroundHigh school diploma required.Formal classroom training and experience hours sufficient to qualify in at least two NDT methods; classroom training aligned to your personal certification/qualification level.Training in SPC data collection and analysis.Training in chemical handling and radiography safety.Minimum 3 years as a certified NDT Technician in two or more disciplines. At least 3 years working in or around a metal joining/welding environment.Holds nationally recognized competencies (e.g., ASNT, AWS) in at least two levels.Demonstrated problem-solving with an ability to define effective courses of action.Eye examination requirements: Jaeger 1 at 12" with corrective lenses and the Ishihara Color Blindness Test; exams conducted annually.ProficienciesAS9100ISO 9001 certification experienceWhy Join GTCOwnership For All — become a stakeholder on day one25% night shift differential — your time mattersFlexible schedules that fit your lifeRetiree-friendly part-time options with benefitsTeam culture built on precision, craftsmanship, and mutual supportMeaningful work — components for demanding, high-standards industries #J-18808-Ljbffr Torrey Holistics
