Laboratory Technician / Radiology Tech Operator or Lab Only- Byron

Job Overview Position: Byron Laboratory Tech Assistant (0.8 FTE, Day Shifts) Lab/Rad Operator (0.5 FTE or higher) Starting Pay – $20.57 – $25.72 (Based on Experience) – Lab/Rad Operator: $22.50 – $28.12 (Based on experience). Offers for external candidates are generally made between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on experience. Responsibilities Perform limited radiology exams within the scope of practice for Limited Radiology Operator Certification. Conduct phlebotomy collection techniques and patient management (venipuncture, capillary puncture, arterial puncture, therapeutic phlebotomy). Prepare patient specimens for throat culture, urine, and other requested specimens. Perform waived level testing for immunology, urinalysis, chemistry, and hematology as applicable. Document patient specimen flow in Laboratory Information System (LIS). Process specimens according to requirements, including dispatch preparations for external labs. Maintain a safe work environment and comply with standards for safe practice and standard precautions. Perform required quality control, proficiency testing, evaluate data, and implement corrective actions as needed. Maintain competency in clinical information systems (RIS, LIS, IEHR) as applicable. Manage sufficient supply inventory. Assist with policy and procedure review, develop new testing protocols, and train new employees as assigned. Perform phlebotomy at skilled nursing facilities as needed. Demonstrate proficiency in performing ECGs. Escort patients to exam rooms, collect intake data, and assist clinicians with procedures. Prepare and communicate patient education materials using preprinted materials. Clean rooms and equipment between patients. Other duties as assigned.
