Based in Winchester, Virginia, the medical group has experienced significant growth over the last five years and now includes more than 500 employed providers in a high-performing integrated medical group. The VP/COO affords a transformational leader the opportunity to continue building on the medical group's successes, driving performance, patient access, and employee engagement across the medical group. Reporting to Iyad Sabbagh, MD, Chief Physician Executive for Valley Health, the VP/COO will provide operational oversight of the system’s physician practice and will be responsible for advancing the vision, continuing the integration, and improving the performance of Valley Health Medical Group (VHMG), a major strategic component of Valley Health. This leader will support and improve a culture of excellence by aligning strategies, processes, practices, and education around experience, timely patient access, and a standardized operational approach to all ambulatory and clinic workflows. The ability to advance the operational capabilities to offer access, utilize technology, create optimal staffing, and enhance the scope of practice to support continued growth are top priorities. VHMG requires a dynamic leader with a distinct vision for the medical group. The VP/COO is a critical role requiring contemporary knowledge and a depth of experience in a complex multi-specialty medical group with the infrastructure, system resources, and support necessary for success. The successful candidate will be a visible, authentic, and experienced leader with strong group practice operations experience and the talents to engage across the group. The VP/COO will be a leader who can communicate effectively, listen, and collaborate with physicians of diverse backgrounds and administrators at various levels, while formulating an approach to systems and processes that support high performance and accessible care. The VP/COO will have high emotional intelligence and a minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in the leadership of a large multi-specialty group practice environment.
