Location: Mishawaka, Mishawaka, IN, 46544, United States Construction Safety Inspector Summary The Construction Safety Inspector is responsible for monitoring and enforcing safety standards on construction sites to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role promotes a culture of safety, prevents incidents, and ensures all work is performed in a safe and compliant manner. Key Responsibilities Conduct regular job site inspections, observations, and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Enforce adherence to company safety policies and applicable regulations (e.g., OSHA standards). Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, safety logs, and incident documentation. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near‑misses; recommend and track corrective and preventive actions. Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and subcontractors to address safety concerns. Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and site orientations. Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper safety practices. Review and conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs). Assist in developing and implementing site‑specific safety programs. Ensure proper signage, barriers, and controls are in place on jobsites. Stay current with changes in safety regulations and industry best practices. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Minimum 2–5 years of construction or safety experience. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards. First Aid/CPR certification and or trainer preferred. Ability to identify hazards and implement effective corrective actions. Strong communication and leadership skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety reporting tools. Knowledge in Velocity EHS and eSafety platforms a plus. Primarily on active construction sites with exposure to varying weather conditions. Requires walking, climbing, standing, and occasional lifting (up to 50lbs). Up to 1 week out of state travel at a time. Attention to detail. Problem‑solving. Communication and training ability.
