Position Overview Chemical Dependency Professional Senior – 2 positions (Open until filled). Salary: $28.32 – $34.50 per hour. Location: San Poil Treatment Center, Keller, WA. Reports to: Chemical Dependency Professional Manager. Bi‑weekly reviews. Basic Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments and determine appropriate course of treatment within scope of practice. Understand treatment of chemical dependency, including cultural context for Native Americans and historical trauma, and provide culturally appropriate interventions. Provide individual or group counseling and other treatment modalities as needed. Respond to crisis situations, provide immediate clinical services, or make appropriate referrals (to clinicians within the facility or outside designated crisis responders); provide after‑hours services as required. Collaborate with CCT Behavioral Health Program, Indian Health Services, referring agencies, and other healthcare providers and social service agencies. Provide leadership and consultation to ensure high‑quality services and confirm trainees complete required paperwork correctly and promptly. Travel and perform duties in the field as needed. Perform other duties as assigned, including crisis work that supports overall objectives of the position. Education and Training Associate’s degree in Substance Use Disorder or a closely related field, or non‑degree training resulting in licensure or certification as a substance use disorder professional or chemical dependency professional or equivalent. Two (2+) years of experience providing addiction/substance use disorder counseling and case management services and four (4+) years of experience in the behavioral health care field. Proof of degree and licensure (college transcripts, diplomas, copies of active licenses). If not yet licensed, eligible for and able to obtain a license within 90 days of employment. Valid Washington State driver’s license and eligibility for Tribal insurance; maintain clearances throughout employment. Licensed under Washington State Chapter 18.205 RCW as an SUDP or SUDPT or CDP, or by any similar state or U.S. jurisdiction with comparable scope of practice. First Aid and CPR training within 90 days of employment. HIV/AIDS and blood‑borne pathogen training within 90 days of employment. Verification of TB test or X‑ray, with negative results, prior to employment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Professional or personal experience demonstrating a firm understanding of Native American traditions and cultural awareness related to treatment delivery. Knowledge of chemical dependency treatment modalities, services, and best practices. Willingness to use additional counseling tools stemming from continued professional development. Understanding of electronic health record systems and appropriate use in a chemical dependency setting. Creative problem‑solving skills and ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Experience meeting programmatic clinical deadlines. High degree of organizational skill and workload prioritization. Commitment to adhere to the professional code of ethics for chemical dependency treatment, especially confidentiality and professional boundaries. Excellent writing, case‑management, and clinical documentation skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in counseling interview techniques, including motivational interviewing. Ability to safeguard confidential information and understand the ramifications of breaching confidence. Effective communication in writing for reports, case summaries, and correspondence. Clinical judgment and ability to apply intervention techniques with elderly and family dynamics. Ability to complete required documentation in a professional manner. Effective time management and organization of caseloads. Assessment of clients’ immediate needs and ensuring receipt of needed services through personal service or referrals. Collaboration with staff, clients, agencies, and tribal programs. Ability to remain professional in tense, demanding crisis situations. Operating a computer and utilizing various software. Independent work and contribution as part of a healthcare team for chemical dependency and dual diagnosis care. Maintenance of case records using required forms and prescribed agency formats, meeting state, tribal, and federal guidelines. Professional relationships with co‑workers, supervisors, and other professionals, with timely documentation of referrals and interventions. Adaptability to work flexible hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays to participate in outreach/prevention and community education activities. High organization, attention to detail, and collaboration with SPTC staff and other tribal health programs. Physical ability: sedentary to moderately active. Adequate ambulatory ability, and proficiency with computer equipment. Ability to lift or move medium weight (under 50 lbs.) occasionally. Driving in adverse weather conditions and traveling between sites as required. Additional Requirements Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre‑employment drug testing. It is also subject to reasonable suspicion and post‑accident drug testing. Required to possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ vehicle insurance. Position may be subject to pre‑employment background clearances; clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
