West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences seek a Gynecologic Oncologist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas of Gynecologic Oncology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed an ACGME accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program, as well as a Gynecologic Oncology fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board certified/eligible in Gynecologic Oncology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Our WVU Cancer Institute is composed of a multidisciplinary care center in Morgantown, WV (Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center (MBRCC)) as well as multiple regional sites across the state of WV and surrounding regions. MBRCC is one of the country's premier cancer treatment centers. We are a quaternary cancer center holding the state's only Transplant and Cellular Therapy (TCT) program, and the only Hyperthermic Intraoperative Peritoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) program, to name a few unique services. The growth of the Institute is driven by a mission to connect patients in all areas of the state and region with a broader team of cancer specialists. Hazel Ruby McQuain Comprehensive Cancer Hospital and NCI designation. With the most recent $100-million-dollar donation to the health system, we can begin the building of our new Hazel Ruby McQuain Comprehensive Cancer Hospital of the WVU Cancer Institute. This will be multiple level facilities that will include inpatient surgical suites, procedural rooms, inpatient rooms for those requiring overnight or extended stays, outpatient clinics, dining services, an outpatient pharmacy, and so much more.

/Meet the Chair

Brian Casey, MD , joined the WVU Medicine team in March 2024. Dr. Casey came with an extensive background in high-quality healthcare and a commitment to improving care for women in West Virginia and beyond.

Casey joined WVU Medicine from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he held numerous leadership roles, including the vice chair of Obstetrics, division director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, assistant program director of the MFM Fellowship, alternate principal investigator for the Eunice Kennedy-Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units Network, and interim director of the Obstetric Medical Complications Clinic.

Before his time in Alabama, Casey served as MFM division director, MFM fellowship director at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, principal investigator for the Dallas MFMU Network site, and chief of Obstetrics for Parkland Health and Hospital System in Texas. He also serves as an editor of Williams Obstetrics.

Casey completed his fellowship in MFM at UT Southwestern/Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas and his residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. He received his medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine.
