Sales Team Member

Position Summary

The Sales Team Member is responsible for building relationships with new and existing customers by identifying their insurance needs and providing personalized coverage solutions. This role focuses on generating new business, cross-selling multiple lines of insurance, and delivering exceptional customer service while representing the State Farm brand with professionalism and integrity.

Primary Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

• Generate new business through referrals, inbound leads, outbound calls, networking, and marketing campaigns.
• Conduct comprehensive insurance reviews to identify coverage gaps and opportunities.
• Present and explain insurance products in a clear, professional manner.
• Quote, bind, and issue new policies while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Follow up on leads promptly and maintain a consistent sales pipeline.
• Meet or exceed monthly production goals and agency sales objectives.

Customer Relationship Management

• Build long-term relationships through regular policy reviews and proactive communication.
• Educate customers on available discounts, endorsements, and coverage options.
• Cross-sell and bundle products to better protect customers while providing additional value.
• Maintain accurate customer records within agency systems.
• Respond promptly to customer questions and provide exceptional service throughout the sales process.

Agency Support

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Stay current on State Farm products, underwriting guidelines, and company initiatives.
• Participate in agency meetings, sales training, and continuing education.
• Assist with marketing events, community outreach, and referral programs as needed.

Performance Expectations

• Meet or exceed monthly sales goals.
• Maintain a high policy retention rate through excellent customer service.
• Consistently achieve cross-selling and multiline production goals.
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with State Farm standards.
• Deliver a professional, positive customer experience on every interaction.

Qualifications

• Property & Casualty Insurance License (required or ability to obtain).
• Life & Health Insurance License (required or ability to obtain).
• Previous sales, customer service, or insurance experience preferred.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient with computer systems, CRM software, and agency management tools.

Compensation: $25,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
