Quality Manager

Lomar Machine & Tool Co. is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead our quality operations and compliance programs. This is a highly impactful, multi‑faceted role for a driven professional who thrives in a precision manufacturing environment. As our Quality Manager, you will own the full scope of quality, safety, and environmental compliance including our ISO 9001 certification, OSHA/MIOSHA programs, and environmental health initiatives while leading a team of quality technicians and managing our QC Lab, supporting multiple manufacturing facilities located in Horton, Michigan.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Quality & Operations Lead daily quality control operations and supervise quality technician staff. Develop and maintain work instructions, process training, and inspection procedures. Ensure products meet customer specifications through robust inspection and testing processes. Drive corrective and preventive action programs to support continuous improvement. Manage and maintain Epicor ERP Quality Module. ISO 9001 Certification Own and manage the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System. Conduct internal audits and coordinate external certification and surveillance audits. Maintain all QMS documentation, records, and corrective action tracking. Train and guide staff on ISO 9001 requirements and quality system processes. OSHA / MIOSHA Safety Compliance Administer safety programs in compliance with MIOSHA General Industry and OSHA regulations. Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and safety training. Manage OSHA recordkeeping, incident investigations, and corrective actions. Serve as the company’s primary regulatory liaison for safety matters. Environmental Health & Compliance Oversee environmental health programs and ensure regulatory compliance. Manage industrial waste handling, documentation, and disposal programs. Maintain environmental permits and coordinate regulatory inspections. QC Lab & Metrology Manage the QC Lab and all precision measurement and metrology equipment. Oversee calibration programs and CMM programming (PCDMIS preferred). Direct use of optical comparators, profilometers, Rockwell testers, vision systems, and hand gages.

WHAT YOU BRING

2–5+ years of quality control/inspection experience in a manufacturing environment. Hands‑on ISO 9001 QMS management and internal auditing experience. Background in OSHA/MIOSHA safety compliance and/or environmental health programs. Blueprint reading and GD&T proficiency. CMM experience; PCDMIS software knowledge strongly preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
