About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Catheterization Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Experience: Minimum of 1 year in related specialty preferred License: Registered Nurse License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS certification via AHA required ACLS certification via AHA required Must-Have: Experience in critical care setting preferred, but new graduates will be considered Description: Type of patients on the unit include cardiac catheterizations, peripheral procedures, TAVR, and devices. The nurse practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a patient's situation. Provides routine and complex care, while focusing on long-range goals and plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates tasks to other care providers to manage the clinical situation effectively. Meets the expectations of applicable competencies such as leadership of self, others, or leaders. Consistent with nursing standards of practice, the nurse provides care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Administers medications and treatments as appropriate and monitors for side effects and effectiveness. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers. Identifies issues and resources to facilitate patient understanding and care. All newly hired experienced nurses are required to attend a new nurses orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and initial onboarding requirements are validated through successful completion of designated competency validations. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is expected.
