Role Purpose Performs diagnostic imaging procedures in at least one advanced imaging modality (MRI, CT, IVR, mammography, bone density, cardiac catheterization) on adults and/or pediatric patients for diagnosis and/or treatment, and quality control. Assists staff technologist in prioritizing and problem solving patient care or imaging issues, and serves as a resource person. Delegates tasks to ensure proper daily operations. Assumes responsibilities of supervisor in absence. Assists in development and training of students and/or new employees. Provides continuing mentorship to advanced modality techs. Responsibilities Prepares patient and equipment for procedures. Performs studies independently, in on‑call situations, portable exams, and other sites as required by work area. Oversees shift operations including daily workflow, assignments, lunch schedules, and adjusts priorities to meet department needs. Enters/escalates IT and equipment tickets. Serves as clinical resource and expert for technologists, including problem solving, assisting with difficult exams, and mentoring. Serves as clinical liaison between team and supervisor. Ensures proper information is communicated and escalated appropriately. Maintains/orders necessary supplies for department needs. Minimum Requirements Education: Associate degree or trade‑school equivalent. Experience: 2‑5 years in radiology. Supervisor Experience: No prior experience required. Licenses & Certifications: IEMA—Illinois only (exclude MRI); RTR, CT, MR, M, BD, CI, VI, RCIS, RCES. Preferred Requirements Experience: 5‑10 years.
