Nursery NICU Nurse PRN

Job Summary & Qualifications The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, uses therapeutic communication, maintains a safe environment, identifies nursing problems, plans individualized care, and coordinates interdisciplinary approaches. In a charge nurse role, responsibilities include day‑to‑day supervision, staff assignments, role modeling, and timely response to physician, staff, and patient needs. What You Will Do Assess plans and evaluate patients’ care needs and carry out physician orders. Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition using computerized documentation systems. Instruct and educate patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary care planning team. Identify nursing problems related to individual patient needs and plan care using an interdisciplinary approach. Qualifications Registered Nurse from an accredited nursing school. Current licensure with the Tennessee Board of Nursing. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. At least one year of registered nurse experience required. NICU/Nursery experience preferred.
