Registered Nurse - Patient Progression - F/T Evenings

About This Role The Patient Progression RN is responsible for coordinating patient placement and flow to ensure effective and efficient patient care. This role is ideal for nurses with strong clinical expertise and the ability to communicate effectively across various departments. Highlights Location: Brick, NJ Facility: Hackensack Meridian Health Schedule: Full‑time, Evening shift What You’ll Do Coordinate the placement of elective and emergent admissions and transfers. Ensure patients are admitted or transferred to the most appropriate available bed. Communicate and implement the Patient Progression plan to staff and departments. Review patients’ conditions for appropriate placement. Track bed availability and maintain logs/records. Work with Plant Ops and Environmental Services on room renovations or repairs. Oversee Daily Census Bed Reports three times a day. Conduct walking rounds on nursing units to identify discharge barriers. Monitor bed availability and pending discharges. Act as a resource for patient placement staff regarding unit capabilities. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program Experience: 3+ years of professional nursing experience Previous experience in Capacity Management/Patient Progression preferred Licenses & Certifications: Current NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License National Certification desirable Telemetry Certification preferred About Hackensack Meridian Health Hackensack Meridian Health is a leading healthcare provider committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
