Conduct exploratory data analysis across disparate data sources (e.g. website usage, dealer behavior patterns and sales data) to understand the performance of CarGurus business and revenue strategies. Duties include: translate business requirements into analytic solutions and communicate results through visualizations and presentations; identify opportunities for revenue optimization; define metrics to evaluate business performance and experiments; build data transformations, reports, and dashboards to monitor and understand business performance utilizing SQL and Python/R, or other scripting languages; communicate and present business and revenue data analyses, visualizations, and insights to key stakeholders; partner with the sales, marketing, finance, product, and engineering departments to grow the business, including recommending and advocating for performance improvement ideas; utilize data to improve the quality of business decision making; and mentor junior data analysts on technical and professional development. Multiple positions.

Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Position also requires one (1) year of experience with each of the following: Data modeling; dbt, SQL, Python, Snowflake, and/or AWS; Business intelligence reporting and strategic analysis; Process automation and scripting; Data analysis, visualization techniques, and programming techniques; and MS Excel, including writing advanced excel formulas and using conditional, vlookups/hlookups, sorting and filtering, array formulas, and VBA macros, pivot reporting, and conditional formatting.

Position Pay Range $114,088 — $127,000 USD
