Position: Senior Data Architect

Location: 100% remote

Duration: 6 to 12 Months

Need a VERY SENIOR candidate with Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse experience.

The Client's Enterprise Platforms team is responsible for the global business applications and analytics platforms that run the operations. They have recently implemented Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse to serve as their company's Enterprise Data Warehouse and Oracle Analytics Cloud to provide reporting and dashboard capabilities to end users across the business. They are seeking a Data Architect to lead efforts to design and manage the Data platform to host all enterprise operational data sourced from various transactional operational applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leads the Data Governance group to partner with data scientists from each business area to create the roadmap of prioritized data for populating Data based on organizational needs.
• Designs and helps implement effective data models and solutions to store, process, retrieve, and visualize company data.
• Identifies technical requirements by understanding operations, applications, integrations, and aligns them to business outcomes.
• Communicates technical, architectural, functional, and impact and risk elements of the data architecture design to technical and non-technical members.
• Presents options, risks, recommendations in a language and a way that shows understanding and technical leadership.
• Interacts with business domain experts and must be comfortable acquiring and using business domain language and knowledge to convey concepts and recommendations.
• Designs and creates business-centric data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) for the various data marts in Data.
• Designs and develops data ingestion programs.
• Works with the Metrics Center Of Excellence to identify data needs and designs updates to data marts in alignment with reporting and dashboard needs to inform key company decisions.
• Manages changes to data models through the governance process and manages the Data Data Dictionary, inclusive of data transcriptions.
• Analyzes and deciphers data in a way that is meaningful to the organization's needs.
• Responsible for overall maintenance of Data.
• Provides requirements and manages vendors to design and develop entities within Data and oversees the migration of data from transactional source systems to Data.
• Manages vendors for operations support for Data related tickets.
• Prepares accurate database design and architecture status reports for management and executive teams.
• Serves as a mentor to the Enterprise Platforms team and helps train and educate team members on best practices for data modeling and managing data.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years experience developing and maintaining data models within an Enterprise Data Warehouse construct.
• 3-5 years experience working with Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse.
• 5-7 years experience with SQL and PL/SQL.
• Demonstrable practical experience and understanding of best practice data architecture principles.
• Strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining.
• Understanding of ETL principles and capabilities.
• Experience working with non-IT front office (e.g. business development, projects) and back office (HR, legal, contracts, procurement, accounting, finance) functional teams.
• Proven vendor management experience.
• Motivated self-starter who can work autonomously and add value in a team.
• Excellent interpersonal, organization, and time management skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree + Five years of relevant experience, or Master's Degree + Three years of relevant experience, or PhD.
