Job Title

Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab / EP (Pre/Post Angio)

Contract | Full-Time | Days | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Admit, prep, and recover procedural patients from Cardiac Cath, Interventional Radiology (IR), and Electrophysiology (EP) procedures
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and manage hemodynamic status throughout the pre- and post-procedural phases
• Titrate drips and administer a broad range of IV medications in accordance with patient care protocols
• Provide care for patients presenting with diagnoses including STEMI, stroke, heart catheterizations, peripheral angios, IVC placement, temporary pacemaker insertion, TEEs, cardioversions, and EP studies
• Operate Philips monitoring equipment and document patient care using Epic EMR
• Collaborate with Cath Lab Techs and charge nursing staff within a 6-bed pre/post unit averaging 4–6 cases per day

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Ability to read telemetry strips and titrate vasoactive and other IV drips
• Broad knowledge of IV medications used in procedural and critical care settings
• Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with peripheral angiography cases
• Experience in Interventional Radiology (IR) and neuro intervention settings
• Familiarity with Epic EMR and Philips monitoring equipment
