divh2Accounts Payable Accountant/h2pLocation: Indianapolis, IN 46204 Pay Rate: $28.50/hr Client: Indiana Department of Child Services - DCS Long-term Contract/ph3Overview/h3pThe essential functions of this role are as follows:/pulliAdvises the supervisor of the status of all accounts;/liliAssists management in the preparation of agency or program area budget requests;/liliDevelops and recommends implementation of new accounting methods and procedures pertaining to the incumbents area of responsibility;/liliAdvises program staff on accounting matters relating to specific program funding;/liliAssists in the development and maintenance of general policies for a fiscal program;/liliCoordinates use of the computerized accounting system for the program area;/liliCertifies the accuracy of financial records and accounts;/liliAnalyzes and interprets financial statements and reports;/liliControls the flow of appropriated funds;/liliReconciles complex discrepancies between accounts;/liliInteracts with, and responds to, state and federal audit representatives;/liliMakes necessary adjustments to close books;/liliMail room back up/li/ulh3Required Skills/h3ulliPrior experience in an accounting role 2 years/liliExperience analyzing and preparing financial reports 2 years/liliExperience developing and maintaining fiscal policies 2 years/liliHigh School Diploma/liliProficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel 1 year/liliEfficient and accurate data entry experience 1 year/liliStrong oral and written communication skills 1 year/liliCustomer service experience 1 year/li/ulh3Highly Desired Skills/h3ulliExperience communicating with state and federal audit representatives 2 years/liliExperience using PeopleSoft Financials/liliExperience working with State, County, or Federal Budgets/liliAssociates degree or higher in Accounting/li/ulpCompensation: $26.88 - $28.50 per hour/p/div
