Senior Alarm Service Technician

The Senior Alarm Service Technician will install and maintain fire alarm systems. Applied Technicians perform tests and analysis of data to ensure the proper functioning of equipment and provide recommendations to customers as appropriate.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Monitor, evaluate, and troubleshoot condition of operating equipment and controls to ensure continued safe operation and life cycle performance. Perform routine repairs to alarm systems Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions. Determine customer concerns with their current applied alarm systems Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area. Discuss heating-cooling system malfunctions with customers to isolate problems or to verify that malfunctions have been corrected. Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders. Test connections Adjust system controls to setting recommended by manufacturer Recommend, develop, or perform preventive or general maintenance procedures Install auxiliary components to alarm equipment Assist with other work in coordination with repair and maintenance teams. Install, connect, and adjust alarms Generate work orders that address deficiencies in need of correction.

Required Education/Experience: High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years of alarm system level operation, maintenance & repair experience in the HVAC and refrigeration trade. Competencies: Knowledge of repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques, electrical circuits and wiring, operating principles of alarms Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Diagnose and resolve problems, follow written and verbal instructions, read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material, and perform math. Ability to use hand and power tools. Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and clean criminal background. Physical Demands Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including electronic and diagnostic tools, recovery equipment, and various other HVAC equipment. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials. This position requires: stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, seeing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those of medium work. Work Environment This job operates primarily alone on all environments, which includes extreme cold or heat depending on the time of year. Vehicles are used as the base of operations.
