Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse in Tacoma, Washington. This position involves providing specialized care for premature and high-risk neonatal patients in a Level IV NICU setting. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment. The role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a dedicated team in a high-acuity environment.

Job Details:

• Required Qualifications: Valid Washington state license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), minimum of 2 years of experience in a Level III-IV NICU, and flexibility to work night shifts.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Consider first-time travelers; travel experience strongly preferred. The role may include floating to the emergency room to act as a sitter, although this is rare. The NICU is part of a pediatric hospital associated with an adult hospital, featuring private rooms and high-acuity care for neonates including those with prematurity down to 22 weeks gestation, RDS, HIE, NAS, and other high-risk conditions. Block scheduling is possible but not guaranteed.
• Patient Types / Common Diagnoses: Prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, high-risk deliveries, feeders/growers, NAS, surgical patients, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.
• EMR: EPIC.
• Float: Possibly to ER to act as a sitter, but rare.
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend; may have a few back-to-back weekends, but rare.
• On Call: No.
• Shift Times: 0700-1930 or 1900-0730.
