We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Buyer to lead critical procurement activities in support of engineering and operations. This role requires strong sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management skills – ideally from aerospace or defense sectors – and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Own end-to-end procurement lifecycle for assigned categories including materials, components, equipment, and services Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and contracts teams to align purchasing strategies with program timelines and technical requirements Identify and evaluate suppliers; issue RFQs/RFPs, analyze quotes, and negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms Ensure compliance with DFARs, FAR, ITAR, and other applicable federal contracting regulations Maintain accurate purchase orders and records in procurement systems; support audits and reporting Monitor vendor performance and resolve delivery, quality, or invoicing issues Drive cost savings, supplier diversification, and process improvements Proactively identify and resolve supply chain issues to prevent production delays. Develop new sources as needed and maintain key supplier relationships. Track and report on cost savings, delivery timelines, and quality metrics. Conduct research, benchmark, and collect market data to ensure a superior supply base Place purchase orders and resolve downstream issues with cross-functional teams Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience Knowledge of AS9100, ISO, or other quality systems (preferred) 5+ years' experience in procurement or supply chain, ideally within aerospace, aviation, defense, or similar environments Understanding of procurement compliance in government contracting (e.g., FAR/DFARS, ITAR) Experience in a fast-paced or startup environment Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Unanet preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills U.S. Citizen (required) Pay range for this role $110,000—$120,000 USD Benefits What's in it for you: Competitive total compensation package Comprehensive benefit package options include medical, dental, vision, life, and more. 401k with company-match 4 weeks of paid time off each year 12 annual company holidays Why Join Zone 5 Technologies?
