Location 1213 Garfield Ave,Harlan, IA, 51537,United States Job Category Clinical Employee Type Non-Exempt Full-time Manage Others No Contact information Description SCHEDULE: Full-time; 36 hours per week; 7:00 pm - 7:00 am Assists the professional nursing staff and ED medical practitioners in providing care to patients in the Emergency Department. Is responsible for performing clerical and receptionist duties and maintaining the physical environment for the area. Performs EKGs. Functions under the direct supervision of an RN. Reports to the ED Nurse Manager. Requirements Completion of approved 75-hour Nursing Assistant Course and/or successful completion of Nursing Assistant Certification written and skills tests or completion of one year of an approved practical nurse program or professional nurse program. No experience required other than during formal education process. Summary Assists with direct patient care including taking vitals, recording data, relaying pertinent information, and assisting with patient care. Assists with admission, discharge and transfers. Anticipates patient care needs, utilizes fall prevention techniques. Assures patient safety and comfort through regular rounding and other safety measures. Assists with indirect patient care activities including cleaning equipment after use and other department maintenance. Competent in computer functions -- ordering tests. Provides age-appropriate care. Demonstrates ability to perform in precise manner in emergency situations.
