Creative Director

Title: Creative Director Organization: Iowa House Democrats Location: Des Moines, Iowa Salary: $5,500/month The Iowa House Victory Fund is a full‑time political organization dedicated to winning a Democratic majority in the Iowa House of Representatives. The Iowa House Victory Fund is looking for a full‑time Creative Director to work closely with the Executive Director, Finance Director, and House communications staff to fulfill the digital and content creation needs of the caucus. This person will be tasked with developing and executing digital and graphic content for our caucus members and candidates. An ideal candidate will need to be detail‑oriented, able to manage several projects at once, have experience in digital communications and graphic design, and be able to develop and execute digital content for a diverse group of candidates. Primary Responsibilities Work closely with Caucus Director and comms staff to create digital content for a variety of platforms and mediums Lead the creation and implementation of the House Democrats’ mail design as well as work on digital content for incumbent protection and accountability on targeted GOP incumbents Create digital assets for members and candidates, including but not limited to Wix websites, campaign logos, campaign literature, social media graphics, direct mail, and digital ads Work with the Finance director and comms staff to manage social media and email presence for caucus, caucus leadership, and select candidates and members Work with targeted candidates, members, and the consultant team to execute paid digital plans and manage assets Other duties as assigned Requirements 1–2 years of experience creating digital content, political experience preferred but not required Ability to manage multiple projects at any given time; self‑starter with strong organizational and planning skills while working long hours in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment Strong written and oral communication skills Experience with website design, tools like Canva/InDesign/Illustrator, ClipChamp or other video editing software, and social media management Photography and video experience or a willingness to learn Ability to occasionally work extended hours, including nights and weekends as needed Preferred location in Des Moines, Iowa but will consider remote for the right candidate The Iowa Democratic Party provides a competitive salary and benefits package including health care and paid leave.
