Automotive Technician Assistant

The Automotive Technician Assistant supports the technician in the repair, maintenance, and diagnosis of vehicles, ensuring that work is performed efficiently and according to the safety and quality standards established by the company and the brand it represents. This position focuses on supporting the technical work, ensuring that the workshop functions correctly and that vehicles receive the necessary care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the technician in identifying and diagnosing mechanical and electronic problems in vehicles.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections, among others.
• Support the repair of electrical systems, brakes, suspension, transmission, and engine.
• Use appropriate tools and equipment to perform repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain tools and work equipment in good condition and ensure their proper functioning.
• Assist in identifying and requesting the necessary spare parts for repairs.
• Ensure that spare parts are correct and in optimal condition.
• Keep the workshop clean and organized.
• Ensure that all work areas are free of risks, respecting safety and health regulations.
• Assist customers, if necessary, to explain the services performed or receive information about problems with their vehicles.
• Collaborate in the management of appointments and coordinate times with the team of technicians.
• Strictly follow safety procedures during workshop tasks.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Participate in technical training and learning new automotive technologies.
• Collaborate in the continuous improvement process within the workshop.

Requirements

• Completed courses as an Automotive Technician or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience driving cars.
• Customer service experience.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of automotive repair, diagnosis, and electronics.
• Ability to diagnose problems efficiently and effectively.
• Ability to work additional hours when required to meet assigned tasks.
• Ability to collaborate with other Automotive Technicians and workshop staff.
