Assistant Deli/Food Service Manager

The Assistant Food Service Manager will assist in all aspects of department operations while upholding our company pillars of Clean, Friendly, and In Stock. Responsibilities Perform duties and responsibilities of the Food Service Manager in their absence or at their discretion. Manage product offerings including Jerky, Smoked Meats, Sausage, BBQ, Bakery, Sandwiches, Grab and Go, Tacos, Burritos, and Hot Dogs. Solve customer issues quickly in a friendly and professional manner. Understand and apply federal, state, and local laws related to food service and general employment matters. Ensure proper use of kitchen equipment and appliances such as floor mixers, slicers, ovens, sharp knives, and fryers. Manage food service employees, protect quality, and provide customer service. Ensure accurate completion of operating reports. Implement and enforce safety rules and regulations. Interact professionally with team members and customers. Perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications Restaurant, retail, or management experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of relevant Food Service experience preferred. Proficiency in food planning, preparation, sanitation, and food handling. Proficient skill level in MS Office (Excel, Outlook). Experience with POS and transaction devices such as kiosks, printers, tickets, and touch screens. Acquire and maintain food service certifications. May require relocation. Work weekends and holidays. Work a rotating schedule that may alternate between day and night. Regular and prompt attendance. Physical requirements: prolonged walking or standing for 8+ hours; frequent bending, climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, balancing, pushing, pulling (e.g., ice cart with 50+ 20 lb bags of ice, lifting material weighing 40 lbs+).
