Job Description
This role offers an experienced civil engineer the opportunity to lead and grow a regional civil team while managing land development projects from concept through completion. You will plan and monitor projects with a strong focus on budget, schedule, scope, risk, and quality, while serving as a technical expert who can stamp drawings and guide field and CAD technicians. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on design work in AutoCAD Civil 3D, close collaboration with clients and project partners, and a clear path to rapid advancement within a growing team.
Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and monitor civil engineering projects with careful attention to budget, schedule, scope, risk, and quality requirements.
• Lead and manage land development projects from initial planning through final delivery, ensuring all technical and regulatory requirements are met.
• Provide technical leadership as a professional engineer with the ability to stamp drawings and assume responsibility for design documents.
• Manage, support, and effectively utilize field and CAD technicians to deliver accurate and timely project work.
• Operate AutoCAD Civil 3D directly and/or oversee drafting technicians to produce high-quality civil design plans.
• Perform deed, plat, and records research to support boundary determinations and project planning.
• Analyze and adjust field data to ensure accuracy in surveys, grading plans, and other civil design components.
• Oversee and/or determine Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, As-Built Surveys, Easements, and ALTA Surveys, ensuring they meet applicable standards.
• Develop and review civil design for land development, including grading, drainage, and site development plans.
• Communicate proactively with clients, architects, engineers, and construction personnel to coordinate design intent, resolve issues, and maintain project alignment.
• Maintain and apply company standards and procedures consistently across all project work.
• Uphold and promote the organization's core values in daily interactions, decision-making, and team leadership.
• Contribute to growing the civil engineering team regionally and act as second in charge, helping to shape processes, culture, and best practices.

Essential Skills

• Professional civil engineering experience with a strong background in land development projects.
• Ability to stamp civil engineering drawings and assume professional responsibility for design documents.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil design and plan production, or the ability to effectively oversee drafting technicians using this software.
• Demonstrated project management skills, including managing scope, budget, schedule, risk, and quality.
• Experience in civil engineering design for land development, including site development, grading, drainage, and related infrastructure.
• Ability to manage land development projects from start to finish, coordinating technical work and stakeholder communication.
• Strong understanding of civil design standards, land development processes, and applicable codes and regulations.
• Ability to manage, support, and mentor field and CAD technicians to achieve project goals.
• Strong analytical skills to review, analyze, and adjust field data and survey information.
• Effective communication skills for working with clients, architects, engineers, and construction personnel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) status or the ability to stamp drawings as a licensed engineer.
• Experience overseeing Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, As-Built Surveys, Easements, and ALTA Surveys.
• background in site development projects, including coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in civil design related to grading, drainage, and land development infrastructure.
• Interest in taking on a leadership role as second in charge of a growing civil engineering team.
• Motivation to help grow a regional civil team and contribute to strategic and operational improvements.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects while collaborating closely with a small, expanding team.

Work Environment
This is an in-office position, working on-site five days a week as part of a close-knit civil engineering team. You will join a small team of two with plans to grow to five or more team members by the end of the year, creating significant opportunities for leadership and career advancement.

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Denver, CO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58.00 - $62.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
