Primary Care Physician – Bronx, NY

Salary: $225,000 – $250,000/year (commensurate with experience)

We are seeking a Primary Care Physician to join a network of federally qualified community health centers located in the Bronx, New York. Qualifications:

• MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an accredited residency program.
• Active state medical license.
• Board Certified.
• Understanding of and passion for community healthcare preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Proficient in conducting medical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and using electronic health records.
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, empathy, cultural competence, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Examine or conduct tests on patients to provide information on medical conditions.
• Analyze records, reports, test results, or examination information to diagnose the patient's medical condition.
• Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
• Explain procedures and discuss test results and prescribed treatments with patients.
• Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results.
• Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary; complete and submit appropriate progress reports to the CMO.
• Advise patients and the community concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and follow federal/state and organizational regulations.
• Plan, implement, or administer health programs or standards for information, prevention, or treatment of injury or illness.
• Attend scheduled monthly and quarterly medical staff meetings, as well as education meetings.
• Agree to see patients irrespective of their medical condition/diagnosis
• Provide 24-hour on-call service on a rotating weekly basis.
• Conduct research to study anatomy and develop or test medications, treatments, or procedures to prevent or control disease and injury.
• Obtain and maintain admitting privileges at affiliated hospitals
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
