Overview Piazza's Fine Foods, an upscale family‑owned grocery store, is seeking part‑time checkers for the grocery department. The position involves operating the cash register, providing efficient checkout service, stocking shelves, and assisting in training new staff as needed. Responsibilities Operate cash register and check stand to provide accurate and efficient checkout service. Add up or record customers' purchases efficiently and accurately. Assist in training new checkers as needed. Stock shelves, including facing products and putting out new products. Learn and memorize various store codes (produce, deli, etc.) and keep up to date on new products. Clean bathrooms and take out trash. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Requirements Maintain positive working relationships with management and coworkers. Understand and follow directions in oral, written, or diagram form. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and stand, bend, reach, twist, and turn for up to 4 hours continuously. Must have full availability to work on weekends and holidays. Must be 18 years old and up. Physical requirements include walking, standing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
