Primary Function:

To perform diagnostic echocardiograms in adherence to the American Society of Echo Cardiography and to assist physicians in the diagnosis of cardiac disease.

• 7:30a - 4p

• No weekends and no holidays.
\ N

Responsibilities:

\ N

\n
• Performs 2D, M-Mode, CW, PW, and Color Flow Doppler echocardiograms.
\ N
• Performs stress echocardiograms.
\ N
• Performs IV starts for Dobutamine stress testing.
\ N
• Demonstrates skills andknowledge necessary to provide quality and quantitative echocardiograms for adult and geriatric populations.
\ N
• Accurately present completed echocardiograms to physicians.
\ N
• Demonstrate ability to recognize normal and abnormal echocardiograms.
\ N
• Demonstrates ability toinstruct students in clinical procedures.
\ N
• Demonstrates knowledge in operation of Ascend reporting.
\ N
• Demonstrates knowledge in all aspects of non-invasive procedures and equipment.
\ N
• Demonstrates patient care at a high standard.
\ N
• Demonstrates compliancewith Christiana Care and departmental policies and procedures.
\ N
• Rotates to all Cardiac Diagnostic Centers at the manager’s discretion.
\ N
• Enters accurate patientstudy information into the clinical care system.
\ N
• Attends departmental meetings and in-services as required.
\ N
• Maintains required credentials of CPR and mandatory inservice education.
\ N
• Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to a supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.

• Performs other related duties as required.
\ N

Education Requirements:

\ N

\n
• Associate's degree preferred.
\ N
• Certification from ARDMS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, RDCS) or from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (Registered Cardiovascular Technologist, RCVT), or a new graduate of an accredited ultrasound program who meets registry eligibility.
\ N
• CPR certification.
\n
• IV experience with saline contrast.
\ N
• Experience in stress echo, dobutamine stress echo and adult echo.
\ N

Special Requirements:

\ N

\n
• Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer or registry eligible obtaining certification within one year of hire.
\ N
• Pass Christiana Care physical.
\ N

\n \n \n This position pays $37.38 to $50.90 based on experience.\ N \n This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.\ N \n \n
