Electronic Engineer - LAN/WAN & Transport Networks

Job Overview Senior Electronic Engineer – Control Center Systems Integration (Consultant, 2+ years, hybrid, Vancouver, WA) Responsibilities Provide engineering expertise for integration, operation, and maintenance of mission‑critical Control Center Systems and associated monitoring and management systems. Lead and coordinate project teams developing computer and network systems, ensuring design packages and submittals conform to specifications. Review and evaluate design packages (drawings, material certifications, and submittals) for conformance to design specifications. Evaluate, test, and troubleshoot telecommunications systems, including SolarWinds, Telenium, Nokia NSP, and Linux‑based environments used in Control Center projects. Maintain Central Authentication Authorization & Account (AAA) systems such as Cisco ISE and RSA One‑Time Password Key servers, ensuring daily health checks and synchronization. Apply security controls testing on Layer 3 to Layer 7 devices and evaluate control systems and telecom technologies. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution. 10 years of experience and knowledge of computer network and systems concepts, principles, and practices applicable to regional transmission systems. Valid U.S. Driver's License or RealID. 5 years of experience in project teams developing computer and/or network systems. 5 years of experience in telecom/network systems engineering principles with minimal guidance. Experience reviewing and evaluating design packages for conformance to design specifications. Preferred Skills 5+ years of carrier‑Ethernet/MPLS and/or network systems programming and troubleshooting. Network telecommunications experience in LAN/WAN environments, including testing new and existing telecommunications management systems. Familiarity with digital monitoring and control devices in central stations. Knowledge of project scheduling, configuration management, and telecom transport protocols for high‑availability WANs.
